Sofia Architecture Week, Sofia Foundation for Culture and Art, and Open Society Institute present:
Sense of the city a series of reports on the importance of architecture in contemporary Sofia What do you think about the city around you? In what environment do you live? What does architecture mean to you? We asked different people living in Sofia: a banker, a street musician, an entrepreneur, a pop-folk singer, a municipal councilor, a blogger, an immigrant, a tourist guide, an artist, a diplomat, a celebrity, a gallerist and a native citizen of Sofia. The report took the form of an interview in their home and a visit to their favorite place in Sofia. We aimed to show what architecture means to these different types of people, none of whom is an architect. The reports are an initiative of Lyubo Georgiev (curator of Sofia Architecture Week 2011) and Jord den Hollander (Director of Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam) and were shot in 2012.
The project was completed under the direction of Sofia Foundation Of Culture and Art and with the financial support of Open Society Institute.
