MESHROOM is a London-based visual commmunication studio or, to put it in other words, one of the best Bulgarian exports. It was founded in 2006 by Dimitar Karanikolov – a man we’ll always remember as author of the most cosmic thesis at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy in Sofia. At SAW 2013 MESHROOM  will speak about and demonstrate how they develop their first-rate architectural visualizations for the world’s elite in architecture.

Dimitar Karanikolov graduated in Architecture in 2002 in Sofia. He then specialized at Kas Oosterhuis’ experimental studio ONL in Rotterdam. In 2004 he moved to London, where he worked for Foster+Partners.

He founded his own atelier for architectural visualizations – MESHROOM – in 2006. The practice supports offices in London and in Sofia and specializes in boutique illustrations for international architectural competitions. Their clients include Foster+Partners, Zaha Hadid Architects, NBBJ, WATG, Broadway Malyan, RTKL.

Dimitar returned to Bulgaria in 2011. Besides doing visualizations, he is also into computer games design, interactive installations and photography.
