Established way back in 1988, UNStudio has realized a multitude of projects all over the world, created by big interdisciplinary teams. And since they firmly believe architecture is done not only by architects, they have more than 100 people of various backgrounds working for the studio in a number of countries. That would also explain the UN in their name – United Network.

The original idea of UNStudio founders Ben van Berkel and Caroline Bos was that if they bring together an interdisciplinary team from the very start of a project, they can investigate much more directions and be more flexible during the whole process.

For over 20 years of experience they have signed all kinds of projects – urbanistic, infrastructural, public, private. They strive to be environmentally responsible, yet responsive to the market and their clients’ needs.

UNStudio’s most notable projects are the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart (2006), the new Dance Palace in St. Petersburg (2009 – 2016), the enormous Raffles City Hangzhou in China (2008 – 2012), the Galleria Department Store in Seoul (2005), the architectural master plan for 88 apartment buildings in l’Park City in Suwon, South Korea (2007 – 2012), the Star Place shopping plaza in Kaohsiung, Taiwan (2009), the Villa NM family house in New York (2007), Theatre Agora in Lelystad, the Netherlands (2007) and the Erasmus Bridge in Rotterdam (1996).

In 2009, like most other big practices, UNStudio opened an office in Shanghai. Their latest projects are developed in China, South Korea and Taiwan. Моre info here
