David Carlson is a Swedish design entrepreneur, facilitator, advisor and holistic thinker.

As an entrepreneur David founded his company for furniture and fashion David Design in 1988. He left it in 2006. His next enterprise was Carlson Ahnell - a concept shop (also online) with a carefully selected assortment in the small beach community Skanör-Falsterbo in southern Sweden. Recently Carlson Ahnell was listed as one of the ten best boutiques in the world by The Observer.
As trends analyst David publishes The David Report -an in-depth trend resource that covers the intersection of design, culture and commercial life with an open-minded and humanistic approach.
As a holistic thinker David runs the platform Designboost. It is a tool, method and initiative that envisions a holistic approach as a condition for sustainable design and boosts design competence by knowledge sharing.
As a speaker David is internationally sought after at conferences, seminars, schools, and corporate events, He tells stories in an informed and inspiring manner about his holistic approach at the intersection of design, culture, and business.
Additionally, David regularly chairs and moderates international design events such as the Industrial Design Summit in Cannes. He gives workshops for companies such as IKEA and Absolut, develops projects for brands such as Audi, organizes trend trips to places like Milan and works with Swedish authorities on projects and sustainable forums and issues.
In his spare time David is president of a nature conservation organization; guitar player in bands since the early 80s and last but not least, a deeply dedicated gardener – more specifically, of old roses with unmatched aromas.
