Georgi Sharov's BillaBook is an attempt to review and criticize design strategies used by the mega/super/hypermarket chains. While constructing a utopian micro-world where consumption is the only possible strategy, there are often being created absurd images or combinations of images, pseudo material surfaces and eerily effective symbolism. This book/booklet/zine has precisely the form and the structure of a specific number of brochures received by almost everyone by mail for free. Eliminating color and images, BILLABOOK describes and explores the messages and the materiality of the strategy behind the original.
